Bistro are only 10 minutes away by car in Haddington. Leith has a
wonderful selection of restaurants less than 15 minutes away. The
resident proprietors will be happy to provide advice on where best to eat.
- The movie "Da Vinci Code" was partially filmed at the
Rosslyn Chapel
in Penicuik just 20 minutes away by car (13 miles).

and varied collection of houses and cottages.
- The National Trust owns the Inveresk Lodge Walled Garden which

- Musselburgh town centre is 3/4 miles north of the village and
here you will find a race track and golf course (The
oldest remaining golf course in the world)
- The river Esk, complete with its swans and ducks, flows through
the town and has attractive banks and bridges. (The Riverside
Walk)
- The famous Loretto School is also located here.
- A pub in Musselburgh has been named National Pub of theYear for
2004. The Volunteer Arms is managed by a member of the Stagg family, the
family which has owned it since 1858. The Campaign for Real Ale award recognises
the quality of beer served in the pub and its atmosphere, fostered by dark
wood panelling. This pub is about 12 minutes walk from Inveresk House.
- Musselburgh is right on the doorstep of both East Lothian, with
its picturesque villages, beaches and 17 golf courses to explore, and Edinburgh
with its myriad of attractions and places to see.
